  2. Namaste.

As the first rays of light are beginning to appear at the end of the dreaded dark tunnel called Sadé Sati, Vrischikans, who by now, must be feeling quite seasoned and strong after having faced some of the most difficult situations in life, must be getting ready to embrace the new ‘After Sadé Sati life’. The best part of the difficult period is that the lower they went, the higher they will rise. It is because of the life changing knowledge that they have amassed during the last few years.

People who lost wealth and position can always regain them but those who have been separated from their loved ones for whatever reason, are the ones who might tend to continue to be sad even after the change of destiny post Sadé Sati.

One of the great truths in life is that the only permanent relationship we can really have with anyone is the one we have with Bhagavan Krishna. All other relationships will end some day or the other, at least on the day we depart from this Janma or lifetime. Therefore, why worry about those who have left you when they were not meant to be permanent companions in your Karmic voyage at all? The bitter fact that remains is that no one truly belongs to us. All people in our life, are like co-passengers in a train who will not stay with us forever but get off in some station or the other. Bhagavan Krishna said to Arjuna: (SBG 2:11) “You speak such high words of the learned but you lament for that which is not worthy of grief. Wise people grieve neither for the dead nor for the living.” Don’t feel sad for something or someone that is not worthy of grief.

Remember that if you were not the one who called off your relationship with the person who left you and if you are sure that you have not been untrue or disloyal to that person, you have absolutely no reason to be worried about simply because you don’t run the risk of attracting new negative Karma and also because you have already lost the one who you thought meant the most to you. Never mind. It was probably the end of some old Karmic cycle. Just stay calm and be happy that you are free from someone who did not deserve your trust. It was just another tough learning experience in your life. You will come out of the sadness. Nothing is lost.

  3. Namaste.

From the many mails that I receive from people around the world, I gather that the stress that most Vrischikans have been under during the past few years seems to have reduced to a great extent. There could be two possible reasons for this: a. The tough challenges faced by Vrischikans have really started to vanish, or 2. Vrischikans who were affected by Sadé Sati have simply gotten used to it!

Well, whatever your problems may be, remember, nothing is permanent – not even troubles, worries, sorrows and miseries. People who have read the Srimad Bhagavad Gita and have understood it a bit would know that no one, no planet, no god or no devil is creating neither troubles nor favourable situations for you in your life. It is all the result of your own past Karma. You have brought along with you (your Self) the mind and the five senses of the person that you were in your previous lifetime. (Ref: SBG 15:08). This means that your life pattern will be a continuation of what it was in your previous lifetime or Janma until you consciously break it with the help of Divine Knowledge and Grace. You might have to ‘pay back’ what you ‘took’ and also ‘receive’ what you ‘gave’ in your previous Janma. No one escapes the natural law of Karma or that of cause and effect. This being the case, of what use is blaming oneself or others, being upset with others, planets or even with Krishna Himself? There is no action that can fade into nothing without a reaction. Every action (this also includes thoughts and words) has an equal and opposite reaction. So how do you get out of it? Particularly when you don’t remember who you were in your past Janma or what you did?

In reality, the only way to settle past Karma would be to face all the challenges caused by your own Karma apart from enduring them, fighting them and overcoming them. However, the good news is that the Supreme Bhagavan Krishna has provided His devotees a way of actually circumventing the troublesome and painful traditional procedure of settling past Karma. All you need to do is to give up all ridiculous thoughts and ideas that cloud your mind and to completely surrender before Krishna. Doing so, will straightaway free you of fear and mental agony which are both results of ego, attachment and lack of self-confidence.

I would urge those who have not yet read the Bhagavad Gita to do it right away. Reading the English translations alone should take about 3.5 hours. Never mind if you don’t understand what certain verses mean. You can try to go deeper and understand them when you read the Gita again which you will anyhow do. You need to aim at completing the Divine Scripture at least because of that fact that until you do it, there will not be much of a difference between you, a born Dharmic person and others from families converted to foreign cults since they too haven’t done it. Read the Bhagavad Gita and be a proud, self-confident and fearless Sanatana Dharmi.

Accomplish reading the Bhagavad Gita today. Those who have already read it may read it again. Just imagine how you would feel when you will be able to say to Bhagavan Krishna what Arjuna did!
    (Arjuna said):
“O Krishna the Perfect One! My delusion has been destroyed and I have regained my memory by Your Grace. I am firm and free from doubts. I will act according to Your word.”(SBG 18:73)

Get up, go and conquer. Bhagavan Krishna is with you.

    Jai Shri Krishna

  4. One of the most important lessons taught by Krishna to Arjuna was to be absolutely fearless. Fear actually stems from ego, attachment and the lack of faith as well as self-confidence.

A major problem with many Dharmics is that they have not read the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. They think it is some fat boring book. Yes, fat it is, but that is due to lengthy interpretations by wise gurus. Reading all that while reading the SBG for the first time is not necessary. It should suffice to read all the 700 translated verses alone which should take about 3.5 hours. Can’t people spend 3.5 hours on reading a book that will alter their way of thinking and their whole life for the better? When people can spend 2.5-3 hours watching feature films that preach anti Dharmic ideas can’t they spend the time on something that would help them make Karmic course corrections which would get them immediate peace and happiness as well as help them create positive Karma for their future?

The following are a few very powerful Shlokas from the Srimad Bhagavad Gita. They are Divine and powerful words uttered by the Supreme Bhagavan Krishna Himself. People who follow Dharma have no need to fear anything or anyone.

    क्लैब्यं मा स्म गमः पार्थ नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते |
    क्षुद्रं हृदयदौर्बल्यं त्यक्त्वोत्तिष्ठ परंतप || २ ३ ||
    SBG 2:03
Do not give in to cowardice, which is not manly and does not suit you. Shed this weak-heartedness and get up, O destroyer of enemies.

    स्वधर्ममपि चावेक्ष्य न विकम्पितुमर्हसि |
    धर्म्याद्धि युद्धाच्छ्रेयोऽन्यत्क्षत्रियस्य न विद्यते || २ ३१ ||
    SBG 2:31
Considering your duty as a Kshatriya, you should not falter as there is no greater work for you than a battle which protects Dharma

    अथ चेत्त्वमिमं धर्म्यं संग्रामं न करिष्यसि |
    ततः स्वधर्मं कीर्तिं च हित्वा पापमवाप्स्यसि || २ ३३ ||
    SBG 2:33
If you don’t fight this battle of Dharma (righteousness), you will be a sinner by failing in your duty and it will cause the loss of your standing as a warrior.

    हतो वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीम् |
    तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः || २ ३७ ||
    SBG 2:37
Either you will be killed in the battle and you will enter heaven or, you will win this battle and enjoy the kingdom on earth. Therefore arise and fight with resolution.

    सुखदुःखे समे कृत्वा लाभालाभौ जयाजयौ |
    ततो युद्धाय युज्यस्व नैवं पापमवाप्स्यसि || २ ३८ ||
    SBG 2:38
Fight the battle treating alike pleasure and pain, gain and loss as well as victory and defeat. By doing so, you will not sin.

    SBG 11:33
Therefore, get up and attain glory. Conquer your enemies and enjoy a prosperous kingdom. All these warriors have already been destroyed by Me. You are only an instrument, O Arjuna the ambidextrous one.

Today being Krishna Janmashtami, could be a great day to read the Bhagavad Gita. People who wish to read the entire Srimad Bhagavad might want to take the help of our Gita site. Those who would be reading the Divine Scripture for the first time, could aim at completing the entire book even if they do not understand some verses. The amazing feeling they would have on completing the SBG would be so wonderful that they would be drawn deeper and deeper into the Supreme Philosophy taught by the Most High and Divine Bhagavan Shri Krishna.

    Jai Shri Krishna

  5. This is an old post which I am posting again for the benefit of those who have written to me requesting me to elaborate on performing work without attachment to the results of the action.

The path of knowledge and the path of action.

Imagine telling Bhagavan Krishna on His face, ‘Sorry Krishna, your words seem to be conflicting and they are confusing my intelligence’!’ Arjuna did say that to Bhagavan Krishna because he was quite bewildered and upset with the entire situation of the war with his own people. When a person is upset, his or her intelligence weakens because of being clouded by unnecessary thoughts and ideas. That’s when Arjuna told Krishna that he found Bhagavan Krishna’s words to be confusing.

    Arjuna said:
    अर्जुन उवाच |
    ज्यायसी चेत्कर्मणस्ते मता बुद्धिर्जनार्दन |
    तत्किं कर्मणि घोरे मां नियोजयसि केशव || ३ १ ||
    arjuna uvaacha
    jyaayasi cheth karmanaste
    mathaa buddhir janaardhana
    tathkim karmani ghore maam
    niyojayasi keshava (SBG 3:01)
    Arjuna said:

Why do you ask me to go for this horrible action when you are of the opinion that knowledge is superior to action?
    व्यामिश्रेणेव वाक्येन बुद्धिं मोहयसीव मे
    तदेकं वद निश्चित्य येन श्रेयोऽहमाप्नुयाम् || ३ २ ||
    vyaamishreneva vaakyena
    buddhim mohayasiiva me
    tadhekam vada nischitya
yena shreyo ‘hamaap nuyaam (SBG 3:02)

With your apparently conflicting words you confuse my intelligence. Please tell me clearly what I can benefit from.

Bhagavan Krishna tells Arjuna that He has already spoken about the Saankhyas who follow the path of knowledge and about the Yogis who follow the path of action. Bhagavan says that you cannot simply renounce action and think that there will be no reaction just because you think there is no action from your side. This is because no one can be inactive even for a single moment due to the qualities born of material nature or Prakriti.

The third Chapter beautifully explains action or Karma. Doing one’s own work imperfectly is better than performing the work of someone else perfectly. Bhagavan asks Arjuna to do the work prescribed to him.

This Chapter also talks about Yagnyas and Sacrifices to deities. Keeping one’s word in a deal is most important and taking something from someone without giving anything in return would amount to stealing.

What does Bhagavan mean by instructing Arjuna not be attached to the results of his work? People may ask why they should work at all when they should not be concerned about the results. This can be explained in a very simple way. Let us take the example of a civil engineer who gets a job of constructing a house. The moment he gets the confirmation from his client and as soon as he receives the advance payment for the project, he starts dreaming. He thinks, ‘Wow! I will make a lovely building after which I will get more orders. I will then construct large condominiums in my city and then in other cities. I will then become the topmost builder of this country and then I will start my work in Europe, in the USA and also in the Far East. I will have a fleet of cars and aircrafts. I will become a billionaire and my children will go to the best school in the world. I will dine with the Royal people and VIPs…..’
What has happened here is that even before starting his work, due to his attachment to the results, he has drifted very far away from the work ‘prescribed’ to him by his destiny. Straying away from the right path will never get him anywhere, let alone to the goal of constructing a perfect building.

Whereas, a person who is not attached to the results, thinks only of perfection in his work which he eventually achieves. Fame, wealth and other benefits are byproducts of doing his work well and they will automatically come to him. Such a person is called a Karmayogi. People who do their work to the best of their abilities without compromising on quality are true Karmayogis. Whatever a person is destined to receive as a reward will come with perfection in work. So why worry?

  6. Which one of these two is better – Renunciation of work or performing work with devotion?

Performing selfless action with no attachment to the result.

    Arjuna said:
O Krishna, you praise renunciation of all actions, and then you talk about devotional Service or Yoga. Please tell me for sure, which one of the two is better.
Bhagavan Shri Krishna said: Renunciation and the Yoga of performing selfless action both lead to liberation. But among the two, the Yoga of performing selfless action is superior to the Yoga of renunciation of action.
A person who neither hates nor desires the results of his actions is known to be a Sanyasi or one who has renounced everything. Such a person is free from dualities and is therefore liberated from material bondage.

  7. Handling Anger, Envy and Lust which are the three gates to destruction.

    SBG 2:60
The senses which are so strong, O son of Kunti, can forcibly lead astray even the mind of the wisest person.
    SBG 2:61
He who keeps his senses under control and meditates on Me by fully surrendering unto Me, has steady intelligence.
    SBG 2:62 + 2:63
A person who thinks of sense objects develops an attachment for them. From this attachment desires are born and from desires, anger is born.
Anger gives birth to delusion and this delusion results in confusion of memory. When memory is confused, intelligence is destroyed and from the destruction of intelligence, the person perishes.
    SBG 2:64
But the person who controls his senses in spite of being with sense objects, is free from both attachment and aversion. Such a person attains serenity.
    SBG 2:65
When serenity of mindthrough Divine Consciousness is achieved, all material miseries are destroyed and the intelligence of such a person is steady.
    SBG 2:66
There cannot be spiritual knowledge and intelligence in a person who is devoid of meditation. Such a person without a mind which is fixed, has no peace. How and where can a person with no peace find happiness?
    SBG 2:67
Any one of the senses that the mind follows and concentrates on, can lead astray the wisdom of a person, just the way a strong wind moves a ship sailing on water away from its course.
    SBG 2:68
Therefore, O mighty armed one, a person whose senses are bridled before objects of desire, has steady wisdom.

  8. About Charity

Charity which is done to a deserving person at the right place, without awaiting anything in return but as something that needs to be done as a duty, is stated to be Sattvic.
But what is given reluctantly or expecting something as a return of a favour or as a reward, is said to be Rajasic.
Charity which is done at a wrong place and time to unworthy persons; without showing respect or done in a disdainful manner, is known to be Tamasic.

  9. Why should one study Advaita Vedanta?

“There is only one sun. When water is sprinkled on a smooth surface, the sun can be seen in each drop of water. Though many suns appear in the drops of water, actually there is only one sun. Likewise, the tiny sparks of intelligence in all the living beings on earth is a representation of the one Supreme Brahmam. This is what has been told by Sri Adi Sankaracharyal in Brahma Sutra Bhashyam.” Kanchi Mahaperiyava Shankaracharya Chandrashekharendra Saraswati known as the Sage of Kanchi and Kanchi Paramacharya describes the Supreme Brahman or Paramatma in his book, ‘Deivathin Kural’ or ‘The voice of God’ : READ ON

Focus and Devotion in worshipping Krishna

The importance of focus in spiritual as well as in worldly life:

    Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya.

“SBG 2:41 In this path, O descendant of the Kurus (Arjuna) there is a single point of focus and determination. The thoughts of the undecided are branched and are infinite.”

  11. Namaste.

Quite a few people who visit this site and also post regularly on our discussion forum have asked me why the forum is not open for comments anymore. Most of the answers to this question can be found on my post dated August 11, 2018

Yesterday, one of the mails I received was from an old friend of ours on this site:

I was looking at the blog and realised you have closed the discussion forum. I thought it was good channel for folks to voice their angst and thoughts and help realise that everyone is in the same boat and the mantra to handle everything is by adopting the five pearls as you call it. And am thinking more important now when people have gone through the storm and coming out of it should the forum not be around to share the positive aspects and learning one may have through the life experience. Those are my thoughts ofcourse could be that I don’t have visibility on what prompted this but I felt it helped me and am sure others too

Below is my reply to that person which I have not sent by mail but am posting here. I would also like to direct it to all others who have sent me similar mails asking me about the forum.

At the outset, I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our forum by sharing their knowledge and their experiences on how they faced, survived, fought and overcame challenge in their lives. I would also like to thank all those who actually discussed with each other on our forum and offered their support and prayers for people who had still not learned to cope with difficult situations in life.

This site was first published in February 2014, during the early stages of Sadé Sati for Vrischikans. It was a time when those who claimed to be ‘hit’ by Sadé Sati were under a state of shock after the sudden waves of ill luck that entered their lives. They were searching through various websites with the hope of finding reasons behind their downfall. They were frantically looking for ‘solutions’ to their problems. After going through many other websites and after wasting a lot of money and time on people who sold them so called ‘solutions’ to their problems, they found our site which straightaway gave them a new perspective and taught them ways to bravely face and handle the challenges they faced instead of running away from them. There were people from almost all walks of life like doctors, scientists, police officials, actors, politicians, entrepreneurs, professors, journalists, students, etc. and also people from other religions who contacted me personally. Communicating with so many people from different parts of the world has been an extremely enriching experience for me. Knowing that almost all who came to our site have calmed down and have found ways to manage the difficult situations they were in, gives me a wonderful feeling of fulfilment.

However, from my experience, I must also say that the majority of people find it easier to believe in absolutely stupid ideas than in the knowledge that one can acquire by studying the Bhagavad Gita which is the ultimate philosophy and the greatest method to pursue self-inquiry.This weakness of the masses is capitalised on by many godmen, godwomen, astrologers, babas, etc. who happily make a quick buck out of other people’s misery. In fact a lot of our visitors who had been to such ‘solution providers’ started posting ridiculous things on our forum. I would neither support, contribute towards nor benefit from the numbing of human intellect by allowing trash on our forum. Just as they do in many other blogs, people wrote posts on idiotic ways of ‘solving problems’ by doing things such as feeding a black dog on a Saturday, giving a blanket to a sweeper, etc. Some people also posted abusive messages on the forum which, of course, I did not approve for publishing on the site. Isn’t it unfortunate that a large percentage of people love to grumble, tell their sob stories to others, blame others, blame their ‘bad natal chart’, etc but do not realise the most important truth that their present is based on their own attitude in the ‘past’ (SBG 15:08) and their future will depend on what they do in the present? What a criminal waste of time it is to squander away the greatest present called the present on discussing in detail about Dashas, Bhuktis, etc! We know that every thought, word and deed creates new Karma which will have to be balanced some day or the other and being ungrateful for the present and for all what one has, also creates negative Karma!

I have said it time and again on this site that Vedic astrology is a great tool for ‘Karmic diagnosis’ and nothing beyond that. Read the post Karmic Diagnosis dated 15.04.2015 on this page.

An astro report on one’s chart is like the report that a sick person receives from a diagnostic lab which the doc takes a look at and prescribes treatment. People don’t go on and on discussing their lipid profiles on public forums, do they? Then why waste time discussing astrology on a forum unless people want to become astrologers? The Vedas, the Upanishads, the Puranas, the Itihasas, etc. that Dharmic people are blessed with, are amazing ways to understand how natural laws work, how to evolve Karmically and how to learn to completely master one’s own mind which is where every conceivable thing or idea is born, exists and also ends.

The knowledge that I disseminate through posts on our site are meant to set people thinking; make them ask questions; teach them to look into themSelves, show them the importance of being grateful for the Divine Blessings they receive every moment of their lives; and help them enjoy the bliss of freedom from being a slave of one’s own mind or of any organised religion or cult. This site is a place where people can learn basics about the Sanatana Dharma; acquire knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita; learn ways to harness their mind and use its immense potential for their own physical, mental, spiritual as well as Karmic development; and share their positive energy with others.

Knowledge is the single solution to all problems. Towards the end of the Divine Revelation by Bhagavan Krishna in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna said (Shloka 18:73): O Kishna the Perfect One! My delusion has been destroyed and I have regained my memory by Your Grace. I am firm and free from doubts. I will act according to Your intsructions.

    Remember, Bhagavan Krishna said:
SBG 7:19 Therefore after innumerable births, the one who has perfected his or her wisdom understanding fully My universal reality surrenders to Me and such a soul is very RARE. (It has already been said that not many would be interested in finding long term solutions – the simple reasons being the inflated ‘I’ in people, the intoxication of ‘Maya’ or illusion that people are under and the ignorance of the Self in them that their consciousness is shrouded by)

Reading all the 700 translated verses of the Bhagavad Gita once takes only about 3.5 hours.
Connect spiritually with Most High Bhagavan Krishna and comfortably sail through your difficult times. The knowledge you gain will not only be the solution to all your life’s problems but will also be the Divine Light that will guide you and help you succeed in all your worldly as well as spiritual affairs, apart from leading you on a progressive path of your Karmic evolution.

    सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज |
    अहं त्वां सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः || १८ ६६ ||
sarva dharmaan parityajya maamekam sharanam vraja
aham tvaam sarvapaapebhyo moksha yishyaami maa shuchaha (SBG 18:66)

Giving up all your ideas of righteousness or religion, take complete refuge in Me. I will liberate you from all sinful reactions (past Karma). Do not fear.

All are welcome to mail me and pose their questions which I will certainly reply to.

    Jai Shri Krishna

  12. You’re a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time

Be open to receive Divine Blessings at all times. Never waste a single moment of your life brooding over things; being sad for being let down, dumped or cheated by others; for not achieving the results you expected in examinations; for not feeling ‘up to the mark’, etc.

Trust and respect yourself, and also admire yourself simply because there is no one else like you…

Just live the moment and make the best of it.

“And the answers are all up to me..”

A tribute to Whitney Houston – One moment in time.

“I want one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heartbeat away
And the answers are all up to me.”

    Song text:

    Each day I live
    I want to be
A day to give the best of me
    I’m only one
    But not alone
    My finest day
    Is yet unknown

    I broke my heart
    For every gain

    To taste the sweet
    I face the pain
    I rise and fall
    Yet through it all
    This much remains

I want one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heart beat away
And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time
    When I’m racing with destiny

And in that one moment of time
    I will feel
    I will feel eternity
    I’ve lived to be
    The very best

    I want it all
    No time for less
    I’ve laid the plans
    Now lay the chance
    Here in my hands

Give me one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heart beat away
And the answers are all up to me
Give me one moment in time
    When I’m racing with destiny

And in that one moment of time
    I will feel
    I will feel eternity

    You’re a winner for a lifetime
If you seize that one moment in time
    Make it shine
Give me one moment in time
When I’m more than I thought I could be
When all of my dreams are a heart beat away
And the answers are all up to me

Give me one moment in time
    When I’m racing with destiny
And in that one moment of time
    I will be
    I will be
    I will be free

  14. Shraddhaanjali

India bids farewell to India’s great leader and former prime minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji who made India a nuclear power.

Atalji who was a highly honest, able, sincere, devoted, principled and Dharmic leader; recognised the talent and ability in Modiji to lead the world’s largest democracy, and appointed him as chief minister of Gujarat in the year 2001. The rest is history.

Atalji must have certainly known very well even in those early years that Modiji would be an ideal successor of his who would be capable and determined enough to lead and steer India into her great future.

Thank you Atalji for all your tall sacrifices and selfless work for the motherland and her people.

    Om Shanti

Here is the video of a wonderful talk by Atalji – A must watch for all self respecting Indians including those who were born into families that converted to other cults.

PS: Indians who wish to offer their condolences for the sad demise of India’s great leader and former prime minister Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji might want to consider saying or typing on SM platforms ‘Om Shanti’ instead following the Abrahamic practice of saying ‘RIP’ or ‘Rest in Peace’.

Reading this post should help in understanding why you should never ‘RIP’ departed people who followed the Sanatana Dharma.

  15. Namaste.

My sincere thanks to each and every one of you for the kind birthday wishes you have sent me through Email, FB, Whatsapp and other means.

May the Supreme Bhagavan Krishna continue to bless all with excellent health, peace and happiness; and may He shower everyone with His Grace and generous gifts of Abundance.

  16. Namaste.

Some mails and comments that I have received recently have further convinced me that there are people who actually take a resolution to not use their intelligence at all. It is rather funny to see all that educated young people discuss on some blogs on astrology, Sadé Sati, etc. They still believe that things such as planetary movements, observing fasts, ‘offering boiled rice to crows’, wearing certain precious stones on their person, etc. can bring them out of troubles and help them live happily ever after. The spiritual intelligence and knowledge of some people are so poor that how much ever they are taught about Universal Oneness, Krishna, Advaita Vedanta, Karma, etc., they would still believe in all the negative things possible. People who belong to organised religions have no other choice but to refrain from using their intellect because they are forced to believe in a book, in a ‘God in heaven’ who supposedly created the world and its people, and when the people sinned, sent his own son to die for them; the 6 day creation story; satan; heaven; hell; etc. but why should people of the ancient, natural, rational, the greatest, scientific and the most sensible way of life namely the Sanatana Dharma go astray and fall for such utter nonsense? Well, it could be because of generations of wrong mental conditioning and their poor spiritual education thanks to fake and selfish babas and gurus who ensure that the masses continue to be ignorant and stupid so that they can divide them, manipulate their minds, exploit them, rule over them and amass as much wealth as possible.

About two years ago, in one of my posts, I had written about a peculiar quality of people of on one hand being scared of ghosts but on the other, not being fully convinced about Krishna. If you told a person not to enter a building because it is haunted, in all probability, the person would not enter the building because they wouldn’t want to take any chances with ‘ghosts’, but if you asked them to read the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, or told them that Krishna is Omnipresent, is within them or that He can be asked anytime for help, they wouldn’t find it convincing enough. It is indeed a pity. It is perhaps due to the tendency of people to take everything for granted that many have become quite thankless for all the miracles they receive every moment of their life. The greatest miracles that people receive every moment of their life are that of being alive, healthy and conscious in spite of the bitter reality that anything can happen to anyone anytime. Strangely, an important truth overlooked by many people is that it is Divine Grace, thanks to which, the impermanent and fragile existence of humans, which is so highly vulnerable to all kinds of danger at any given moment in time, is protected until the Karmic end of their Janma.

The fifth one of the Five Pearls is that of Social Responsibility. Sharing one’s experience, knowledge and positive energy with others apart from helping others also helps oneself by shielding them from all kinds of negative energy that might enter them from various sources. However, it is common human tendency to forget about the Fifth Pearl once their problems seem over. It only indicates that they have still not learned the attitude of gratitude. The lack of this important pearl, unfortunately, leads them again into learning periods in the form of difficulties and other challenging situations which in turn force them to go back on a frantic help and guidance seeking spree.

Someone who needed spiritual guidance wrote to me saying that he had read “all the summarized form of the 14 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita” (sic), when there are 18 chapters in all in the Divine Scripture, and that he did not have “determined faith” (sic) in Krishna as he believed in “other Gods like Rama, Shiva, etc.” Remember what I wrote in the beginning of this post – “It is only because of generations of false conditioning and their poor spiritual education thanks to fake and selfish babas and gurus who ensure that the masses continue to be ignorant and stupid so that they can divide them, manipulate their minds, exploit them, rule over them and amass as much wealth as possible.” It is said that there are no stupid questions but only stupid answers, and this statement about worshipping ‘other Gods’ is a stupid one. The misunderstanding of the basic principle of universal oneness of the Advaita Vedanta is an important weapon in the hands of enemies of the Sanatana Dharma and of India, which they use in order to malign us Sanatanis by calling us polytheists. How disturbing it is that such a statement comes from a person who had the good past Karma (SBG 6:41-44) to be born into a family following the Sanatana Dharma which is founded on Nondualism and not into one that was forcefully converted into ridiculous Adharmic cults.

I started this site in February 2014 with the intention of sharing my positive energy, belief in Krishna and the experience as well as the little bit of knowledge I have gathered in my highly eventful Janma thus far which of course, continues to be more and more adventurous, thrilling, interesting and fulfilling. I will continue to post my thoughts on this site as and when possible. However, as everything has a life cycle, this discussion forum too has one which seems to be coming to an end. From the number of emails and posts that I receive from people who have benefited from this site, it appears that this site has been serving its purpose of being a source of inspiration, encouragement, hope, knowledge and sanguineness for people who are desperately seeking moral support from someone they could trust.

This site has attracted thousands of visitors most of whom, I was blessed with the opportunity of interacting with. It is heartening to think that a large number of troubled people who came to this site have crossed their hurdles and have learned to efficiently face and manage challenges in life. I humbly wish that more and more people, particularly young ones, take some time (about three and a half hours) to read the Srimad Bhagavad Gita and offer themselves completely to Krishna, understand the way Karma works, follow the Five Pearls, and become absolutely fearless. They could also learn some of my simple and non complicated techniques, that I have written about in various posts on this site, which I use in order to face highly challenging situations, that could help them be always peaceful and happy, and help them experience Krishna each and every single moment of their lives.

This discussion forum will continue to be visible on our site.

May everyone be blessed with Divine Grace.

    Jai Shri Krishna

  17. Towards the end of His discourse, Bhagavan Krishna calls Arjuna His friend and makes him a final revelation.

SBG 18:64 Hear from Me again My Supreme Word which is most the most confidential knowledge of all. You are dear to Me and I will tell you what is good for you.

    SBG 18:65
Fix your mind on Me, always think of Me, be devoted to Me, sacrifice unto Me, and you shall come to Me. This is my promise to you as you are dear to Me.

    SBG 18:66

Giving up all your ideas of righteousness or religion, take complete refuge in Me. I will liberate you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear.

Attachment to impermanent worldly possessions is the prime cause of all negative and destructive qualities such as pain, fear, anger, jealousy, hatred, greed, aggression, megalomania, etc.

The love along with respect for the Divinity in all beings is the simplest way to practise true love for Krishna.
SBG 13:27 The person who truly sees is the one who sees the Supreme Bhagavan, existing equally, the unperishing within the perishing.

Life is too precious to be wasted on brooding over people, things or position that have left you. Actually they did not leave you because they were never with you the way you thought them to be. They were only a part of your Karmic evolution programme. It was due to Maya or illusion, that you thought them to be a fixed part of your current Janma. The best thing for you to do would be to thank them for what they gave you or took away from you because they did their Karmic job of teaching you something you did know about yourself. The loss of a high position in life, due to whatever reason, teaches a person clearly about the fragility and impermanence of the abstract phenomenon which position in the society is.

The past and the future which are mere thoughts, have tremendous power over weak minded people. This applies to people who cry over some awesome lifestyle they lived in the past or fear imaginary grave dangers in the future. Such unwanted and unproductive thoughts can systematically and successfully destroy their NOW.

The NOW is the greatest gift that we receive every moment of our lives. There isn’t and there cannot be anything greater than the NOW. Enjoy it, be grateful for it, and experience it to the fullest.

    SBG 7:03
Out of thousands of men, hardly one tries to achieve perfection in Self-realisation and among those trying so hard to do so, there is hardly one who achieves perfection in Self-realisation and among those who do achieve Self-realisation, hardly one knows Me in truth.

    SBG 7:07
Beyond Me, there is nothing superior. Everything is connected to me like pearls on a thread.

People who learn to feel and fully experience the Grace and Divine Love in the Now, find everything else inconsequential and irrelevant; overcome fear, anger, hatred and greed; and attain a blissful state of mind which is nothing but pure Divinity.

    Jai Shri Krishna

Couples who quarrel with each other and threaten each other with a break up need to watch this. Love is a natural phenomenon with the power to guarantee happiness and peace

It is a sad fact that although on one hand there are people longing for love, there are also people on the other, who reject the love they found.

May everyone be blessed with love, happiness and peace.

    • Namaste dear sir,

First I was little suprised to see this different kind of video here bu when I started to watch I felt so nice and in the end I had tears of joy thinking of what all happened in my life with my husband. It is valuable for people so that they can understand the importance of showing our love for people with whom we are.

      Affectionate regards,

      Jai Shree Krishna

      • Vedhika and Ram, I am very happy for the two of you. It was your honesty and Krishna’s Grace that protected both of you from going away from each other forever.

        Stay thankful to Him.

  19. Jai shree krishna ! Sharing a good thought as seen on my desk calender ..
To loose either Money , Health , Trust ,or Loved one is a great loss , but the greatest tragedy is to lose faith . Are you without faith ? Dont give up. There is a miracle waiting for you . Faith can be regained in that very moment when you turn to Krishna with believing spirit ..

  20. The day was the 11th of September in 1893, when Swami Vivekananda, a young Indian from Bengal started delivering his powerful speeches at the Parliament of World’s Religions in Chicago. His profound knowledge of various scriptures and the Srimad Bhagavad Gita apart from his deep understanding of the Advaita Vedanta or the philosophy of non-dualism, can be experienced through the following speeches of his.

In an era of fake godmen and other charlatans, who interpret ancient scriptures in their own ways in order to amass wealth and gather huge masses of sycophants around them, listening to the following speeches of Swami Vivekananda and trying to comprehend them can remove a lot of misconceptions about the Sanatana Dharma (Hinduism) and give clarity to the mind. It can also help people by adding the essence of spirituality, gratitude, the belief in oneness, universal brotherhood and selfless love for the Supreme Being.

    • Happy Friendship day to all and my dear sir

  21. Post on FB Gita Group 30.07.2018

Anyone can directly go to Krishna without the need of going through agents. People do need teachers (SBG 4:34), but that is only to be shown the way after which it would make sense for a devotee to continue further rather than living and dying at the place where he or she was shown the way.

Krishna explains this fact through the following verses. There is certainly no harm in going to babas, their mausoleums or other places but the only hitch is that it might take a few hundred more Janmas before one realises the right path and goes directly to the Krishna.

Srimad Bhagavad Gita Chapter 9 https://tvmgita.wordpress.com/gita/chapter-9/
But great souls, who are endowed with divine qualities, take shelter in Me and know Me as the Immutable source of everything. They adore Me with single minded devotion.
Steadfast in their vows, these ever integrated devotees worship Me with devotion and humbly bow down before Me.
Others who work on cultivation of knowledge, worship Me the All-Inclusive Supreme Brahman in My universal form. Some see Me as the Universal Oneness not different from them while others worship Me in My infinite manifestations.
To those people who worship Me with a fixed mind and
constantly meditate on Me, I ensure that they get what they lack and preserve what they have.
Those who worship other deities with faith are also worshiping Me, but they are doing it without true understanding.
I am the enjoyer and the Bhagavan of all Sacrifices, but those who do not know Me in reality, fall into the world of mortals and revolve in the cycle of birth and death.
Those who worship Deities, go to them; those who worship ancestors, go to their ancestors; people who worship ghosts and spirits, go to them; and those who worship Me, will surely come unto Me.
I accept whatever is offered to Me with devotion and a pure heart. It could be a leaf, a flower, a fruit or a little water.
Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer in sacrifice, whatever you give, whatever you practise as austerity, O Arjuna, do it for Me and as an offering unto Me.
By doing so, you will be freed from the bonds of action that result in good and in bad. By being free and with your mind guided by the principle of the Yoga of renunciation, you will attain Me.
I am the same to all living beings. There is no one I am partial to. However, those who worship Me with love and devotion, are in Me and I too am in them.
Even if the most sinful worships Me, with exclusive devotion, he should indeed be regarded as righteous, for he has taken the right resolution.
Soon he becomes righteous and he attains eternal peace; O Arjuna, you should know for sure that one who is devoted to Me, is never destroyed.
Any one can come unto Me, O Paartha (Arjuna). Those born from the wombs of degraded women, merchants, and also those doing menial jobs can approach Me the Supreme Destination and attain the Highest Goal.
The righteous, sages, devotees and saintly kings, attain me although they have attained temporary life in this sorrowful body. They engage in absolute devotion unto Me.
Fix your mind on Me; be devoted to Me; sacrifice unto Me; bow down to Me; having thus united your whole self with Me and taking Me as the Supreme Goal, you will certainly come unto Me.
    Jai Shri Krishna

  22. Namaste.

The reluctance, to come out of one’s comfort zone that one is very used to, in order to take chances, is often one of the prime negative forces in a person that usually stifles their growth in career as well as in life in general.

The famous Formula 1 champion Louis Hamilton says, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate…our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” Many people fear change in their life and therefore do not want to do anything new and progress. They actually fear their own power which they subconsciously recognise to be great enough to completely alter their life and therefore they don’t want that inner power in them to take over! Such people end up blaming the upbringing they had, their teachers, their friends, their looks or even those beautiful and ‘innocent’ planets hurtling through space minding their own business!

Remove fear completely, develop confidence in yourself and in Krishna, go for challenges, give your best and leave the rest to Him.

    Jai Shri Krishna

  23. Namaste.

The song Bhaja Govindam written by Adi Shankaracharya, contains the essential truth and philosophy of the Advaita Sanatana Dharma. Understanding every word of this amazing song, can bring about immediate peace and tranquility even in the most troubled of minds. The music director Shri Sai Madhukar and the participants of the South India Female Choir have truly created a masterpiece through this recording.

Life, youth, beauty, relationships, wealth, properties, sensory pleasures, etc., are temporary and when they come to an end, they cause great pain. Leading a life with the Self deeply engrossed in Krishna is the sure way to attain eternal bliss and flush out all kinds of pain, sadness and miseries forever.

SBG 9:22 To those people who always think of Me and have exclusive devotion unto Me, I ensure that they get what they want and preserve what they have.

    Jai Shri Krishna

  24. Namaste.

This is a quick note or reminder to people who are under the impression that this is an astrological site or one run by some baba or swami who offers ‘quick astrological solutions’ to problems faced by people.

Everything changes in life. Life or a Janma is not a one time affair. It is only a minuscule part of the entire journey towards Krishna or Superconciousness or rather actually becoming one with everything. All experiences are learning experiences through which you will fully understand some day or Janma or the other, that your ego is a mere illusion which kept you incarcerated in a fool’s paradise and that the you in you is nothing but the Divine Being Himself. Read The Ishavasya Upanishad https://tavamithramsarvada.wordpress.com/ishavasya-upanishad/ and the post on four verses from the Kathopanishad https://tavamithramsarvada.wordpress.com/the-chariot-analogy/

No God is ‘testing’ you or is anyone even ‘punishing’ you for your misdeeds! The Supreme Divine Bhagavan Krishna has better things to do SBG 3:24 “If I ever stop being engaged in my action, these worlds will perish……”, There is no planet, especially the beautiful and magnificent ringed planet Saturn which is over 700 times the size of the earth, that is hatching a plot to destroy your life or make you observe gruelling fasts or travel to their temples and fall at their feet.

Through this site, I share my experiences with others and try to make them aware of the fact that Krishna is within them and that change can be caused only from within. After acquiring this knowledge, people usually cease to believe or rather let themselves influenced by fears caused by retrograde movements of Shani etc. Vedic astrology is only a diagnostic tool that helps in getting a quick a look into one’s past Karma. May people be warned through this site to refrain from getting too deep into astrology and wasting their precious time which they could spend on more (Karmically) useful things.

Everything in life moves around in circles and therefore when things start going down, it is quite natural that things will have to touch the nadir or ‘BDC’ before rising up towards the zenith or the ‘TDC’ (like the movement of a crank in which the lowest and highest points are called BDC and TDC or Bottom Dead Centre and Top dead Centre respectively)

In circular movements of a crankshaft in reciprocating internal combustion engines, there exists a phenomenon called an ineffective angle. It occurs on both BDC as well as on the TDC. It is a small angle when although the crank continues to move, the piston stays in the same position. This stage can be compared to a situation in life where you suddenly feel everything has come to a standstill where nothing bad nor good is happening. Things are moving but you don’t perceive their movement.

If you are destined to go through some thing you have to do so because it is a part of your Karmic education and evolution process. The more you resist the more pain you will feel. Pain is the result of ego and attachment. Read “Why me” https://tavamithramsarvada.wordpress.com/2018/04/30/why-me/

I keep repeating time and again to people who visit this site to JUST LET GO and see what happens. Ultimately, even if you want, you will not be able to stop what is due to you but for that, you will have to be patient, confident, fearless, honest and supplicative before Krishna.

The tough challenges you face today and handle efficiently will only add to the list of stories about your own life you will be narrating to your children, grandchildren or other younger people some day in the future.

    May everyone stay blessed.

    Hari Om
    Jai Shri Krishna

  25. Namaste.

Someone asked me about retrograde (vakri) Saturn this morning and also when his good time would start.

Below is my response to him which I am posting here so that it could help others too.

I know that free advice is never taken seriously by people. It is saddening to see that even after all the talks you had with me, the reading and studies you have done, you still seem to be in that same hole in which you were when you first contacted me.

Saturn vakri, when the planet will start doing favours to people and other such things are meant for people who have not realised Krishna.

If you have such thoughts running in mind, you yourself are closing possibilities of receiving Divine Grace simply because you believe that a planet (700 times the size of the earth) is causing troubles in your life.

Everyone has to undergo what they have created through their own Karma. The only short cut and way to bypass past Karma, of course, is taught through SBG 18:66.

Just relax your mind, stop being perturbed by anything, be thankful for whatever you have and for all the protection you are receiving every moment of your life. Always remember, things could have been worse which they aren’t.

Learn to be a witness to your own life. Try to work on coming to terms with the situation you are in understanding that it will change some day or the other.

You are not the only one who still has not learned the trick to have the mind under control. I am quite convinced that when people get something for free, they do not really know the value of it. Why don’t you tell yourself that the guidance I offer you has cost you a quite a lot so that you take seriously each and every word I say from experience?

I will post what I wrote to you on our forum for the benefit of others too.

Everything changes. Everyone changes. All situations change. The only unchanging Truth is Krishna.

    Stay blessed.

    Jai Shri Krishna

  26. O lonely traveller of the heavens.

A sunrise is one of the most magnificent natural events that one can witness. During my visit to the south of India, I was blessed with such an opportunity to watch the dawn of the 23rd of July 2018 over the Bay of Bengal.

According to Dharmic scriptures and traditions, Aditya or Surya the sun, is revered to be the One that represents the visible form of the Divine. It is believed that worshipping the sun can help one in building immense mental as well as physical strength in them.

      • Hello Reva-
Thanks for your reply. Yes I was busy with office .I am good and happy also. Thanks a lot for asking. How are you? Hope everything is fine with you.
Challenges are integral part of life Reva. It changes according to our perception and how we are looking to that. Take every challenge as an opportunity and move on. Definitely there will be something to learn from all difficulties that are coming to us. We don’t have any control in certain things that are happening in our life. But dealing with that problems are under our control.
As Sir telling to us Mind is everything, try to Control it and go-ahead.

  29. MAITREYI AND YAJNAVALKYA (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad)

Many people, both men and women, make claims of ‘selflessly’ loving their partner. The fact, most of the time, is that they love themself so much that they need the other to fit into the role of someone they have in mind. An unfortunate thing is that once they feel the other is no longer useful or if they find someone better, they lose interest in the one they claimed to ‘selflessly’ love, dump that person and go for someone else.

The prime causes of all this are selfishness, maya, illusion, the lack of proper spiritual understanding and the ego in them that tells them that they know everything.

Understanding nondualism, universal oneness by studying the SBG, the Ishavasya Upanishad and the Katha Upanishad, should greatly help in destroying this highly destructive illusion from the mind.

The following story should act as a great eye opener for such people who live in their own false world of ‘I’, ‘My’, ‘Me’, ‘Mine’, ‘My feelings’, ‘My troubles’, ‘What all I have been through’ etc. and cause irreparable damage and hurt to others.

    MAITREYI AND YAJNAVALKYA (Brihadaranyaka Upanishad)
    Author: Krishnamoorthy Yayavaram

The dialogue between sage Yajnavalkya and Maitreyi, his wife, in the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad is a classical exposition of the significance of Self and the love between the individual and things! What is the secret behind the love expressed by one person to another? Is it the love for the body or for anything else? To these questions of his spouse Maitreyi, Yajnavalkya answers with power and authority, the cause for love and attachment between individuals and things! Calling his dear wife Maitreyi, Yajnavalkya announces that he is about to renounce that life and make a settlement between her and Katyayani. Maitreyi, more spiritually oriented, questions whether the whole earth filled with wealth would make her immortal. Yajnavalkya replies that she would be similar to the rich but wealth cannot make her immortal! Maitreyi wonders of what use wealth can be that cannot make her immortal! She asks Yajnavalkya earnestly to tell her what he knew of immortality. Pleased with her words, Yajnavalkya asks her to come and sit down and reflect on what he explains!

Yajnavalkya started by saying that “ It is not for the sake of the husband that the husband is dear, but for the sake of the Self is a husband dear.

The wife is dear for the sake of the Self in her! The sons are dear only because of the Self, not because they are sons! Yajnavalkya continued and said that it is not for the sake of the wealth that the wealth is dear but for the sake of the Self is wealth dear! Brahminhood is dear for the sake of Self only! Kshatriyahood is dear for the sake of Self! All worlds are dear only because of the Self embedded in them! Even the Gods are dear because of the Self principle in them! All creatures are dear for the sake of Self! Everything is dear just for the sake of Self! Yajnavalkya instructs Maitreyi that the Self should be visualized in everything! “ It should be seen, heard of, reflected on and meditated upon.” When this is understood all this is known!

Yajnavalkya says that anyone who takes him to be different from the Self is rejected! Thus the Kshatriya, the worlds, the gods, and the creatures, reject one who takes them to be different from the Self! In other words, the Brahmin class, the Kshatriya class, these worlds and Gods and creatures are that Self! Yajnavalkya further says that the drum and the sound it produces cannot be separated! Even so, the conch and it’s sound! as well as the vina and it’s sound are inseparable! Like the smoke that rises up when fire is kindled with damp fuel, from the great Being is produced everything: the four Vedas, history, legends, arts, Upanishads, verses, aphorisms, glosses and commentaries! They are all breathed forth from Him!

This great Being is the center of everything like the ocean for water, skin for touch, nose for all smells, tongue for all tastes, eye for all forms, ear for all sounds, mind for all intentions, heart for all arts, hands for all actions, and the feet for all movements! When a lump of salt is put into water it dissolves and loses itself we cannot get it back but it tastes salty! Yajnavalkya tells Maitreyi that this infinite and boundless Being is a ‘mass of consciousness’. Emerging from these elements, it merges into them again! In its absence there is no more Individual consciousness!

Yajnavalkya completed his explanation and Maitreyi felt bewildered at his interpretation and detailed analysis. She was astonished at the statement that ‘when he is gone there is no more consciousness.’ Yajnavalkya replied that there was nothing bewildering in his statement! It is the essence of wisdom. It is duality that causes one to smell another, see another, hear another, speak to another, think of another, and understand another! But when everything has become the Self, then by what and whom should one smell and carry on other functions? By what should one know that by which all this is known asked Yajnavalkya and posed the question to his dear wife, Maitreyi! The five elements, earth, water, fire, and the sun are sweet like honey for all beings and they are also sweet for the five elements! This all pervading radiant person is enshrined in oneself and is the seed , the Self! Yajnavalkya thus establishes that the Lord and king of all beings is this very Self! “ As all the spokes are held together in the hub and the felly of the wheel, just so are all gods, all worlds, all breathing things, all these Individual selves are held together in the Self!! Duality should be eschewed and one should see the Self in everything in the world and nature!

  32. Namasthe dear guruji,

I am quoting from a site which is same as what you told me about coming to terms with ourselves.

The first step is always to accept reality as it is. Life is permanently flowing and, in its course, it gives us countless experiences which constitute our knowledge. This knowledge involves ourselves, other people and everything around us. The experiences can be stimulating, fun and even transcendental, and this awards our knowledge with extra wisdom.

There are also painful experiences, because since day one life is also made up of deficiencies, frustrations and impossible dreams. Fears, distrust and pessimism are born within us when we are not capable of accepting this. In fact, we end up blaming ourselves. If we find ourselves in this situation, it’s essential to find a way “to come to terms with ourselves.”

Thanks a lot for your blessings for us.

    Sincere regards and pranam,

  33. Jai Shri Krishna,

Body is the servant of the soul

Body and Soul are very different from one another. While the body is made of flesh, bones and other material elements, the soul is a divine entity; a part and parcel of God. Body receives satisfaction and nourishment from the material world. Soul seeks nourishment from God and devotion.

We are a combination of body and soul. Body is the servant, while Soul is the master. All the parts of our body are constantly striving to serve their master. Eyes try to see all the beautiful things, people and places of the world only for the purpose of pleasing the soul. Ears try to hear all the beautiful sounds the world has to offer with the view to make the soul happy. Likewise, the tongue wishes to taste all possible delicacies for the sake of the soul. Skin desires the touch of everything soft because it is attempting to make the soul happy. Nose desires to inhale various fragrances available in the world.

Although the body is constantly attempting to please the soul using things of the material world, it does not succeed in its efforts. Things of the world certainly bring temporary happiness but fail to satisfy the soul permanently.

The knowledgeable individual takes care of his body and performs his duty towards family and society, and at the same time he feeds the soul by worshipping God. For the sake of the soul he looks beyond the material world and makes inquiries in order to know and love the all-pervading Creator.

This is a simple note for people with minds confused due to conflicting ideas of worshipping babas, gurus, swamis, deities, tombs, ghosts, ghouls, etc.

When you work for a large organisation and you know the CEO very well, why would you ever waste your time trying to please the assistants of the CEO or other people holding lower positions in the company, so that they would recommend your case to the CEO and get him or her to shower favours on you? Won’t you go directly to the CEO? Wouldn’t it make more sense to go to the ultimate Supreme Bhagavan than go to people who claim to be His agents?

    Bhagavan Krishna said to Arjuna:
    यान्ति देवव्रता देवान्पितॄन्यान्ति पितृव्रताः |
    भूतानि यान्ति भूतेज्या यान्ति मद्याजिनोऽपि माम् || ९ २५ ||
    yaanti deva-vrataa devaan
    pitrun yaanti pitru-vrataaha
    bhutaani yaanti bhutejyaa
    yaanti madyaa-jino’pi maam (SBG 9:25)
Those who worship Deities, go to them; those who worship ancestors, go to their ancestors; people who worship ghosts and spirits, go to them; and those who worship Me, will surely come unto Me.

I remember a story I posted about two years ago on our forum:

The story of four men – A muslim, a christian, a Sikh and a Sanatani travelling by boat which was about to sink. The muslim prayed aloud to his god and he was saved. The christian prayed to Jesus and the Sikh called out to Waheguru and they too were saved. But the Sanatani, called out for Krishna, Shiva, Ganesha, Durga, Subrahmaniya, Vishnu, X baba, Y baba, Z baba, Q guru, S swami, etc and he was still not saved from sinking. This story is usually said by people who take pleasure in ridiculing the most scientific, rational and logical Dharma the Sanatana Dharma. Please also visit the page https://tavamithramsarvada.wordpress.com/2016/01/27/krishnas-sanatana-dharma-vs-organised-religions/

The Sanatana Dharma and other ways of life that sprung out of it are the only ones that believe in the Omnipotence and Omnipresence of God which is the entire system personified. Our Dharma is not founded on stories like that of a God in heaven taking 6 days to create the earth, the skies, the waters, the moon, insects, birds, animals, fish, Adam and Eve and then taking rest on the 7th day. In that case they should also tell us who created the countless other galaxies in the endless universe and when?? What a funny story!

The Sanatana Dharma is not an organised religion with a set list of Dos and Don’ts or commandments. Understanding Sanatana Dharma takes a whole life time if not many more. However following the Sanatana Dharma is very simple. It is the greatest philosophy ever and each and every single truth is explained beautifully through metaphors and personification.

Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, who are different forms of the Supreme Brahman, are believed to be the Creator, Protector and Destroyer respectively. Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati or Shakti are the male and female powers which are equal. One is neither inferior nor superior to the other. Ardha Nareeshwara is the perfect balance of both the powers. All of us have male and female hormones. The ratio of each is different in men and in women and it is this difference that makes the two different genders. However souls have no gender. A man in this Janma could have been a woman in a previous one. Worshipping and meditating on Shiva and Shakti, help a devotee derive extreme power into his or her mind. Remember, the mind is everything. It is consciousness that tells a person that he or she is alive and what gender the person belongs to. Invoking Divine Power through meditation, through music, by working in the garden, serving the needy, teaching, through cooking or even playing with children, depends on each individual. There are no strict rules. The entire system is like an extremely large corporate organisation. Each one has his or her own work to do for the system, but nobody is indispensable! The ‘organisation’ can dump anyone who is not useful to it, any time.

The Sanatana Dharma is a deep philosophy which has been explained through the extensive use of metaphors. It was neither founded by someone nor named after anyone. You either believe the metaphors to be real in which case it will be your faith that will take you forward or, you simply treat them as metaphors, understand the truth and move ahead in which case it will be your knowledge that will guide you. As per Sanatana Dharma, Krishna is the entire system personified. The entire system means the whole universe with all its galaxies, stars etc. Earth happens to be just a tiny part of the system.

    “Arjuna said:
I see all Deities and various other living entities specifically assembled in Your Body O Bhagavan. I see Lord Brahma on the lotus flower as well as Lord Shiva, many great sages and divine serpents.”

When people start meditating or praying, their minds are so full of mixed thoughts most of which are simply trash. A cluttered mind is not at all suitable for meditation and therefore it is necessary to calm it down and improve its focus. This can be done by beginning with a Ganesha Stotra such as the Sankat Nashaka Ganesha Stotra, followed by prayers to Bhagavan Shiva, Mata Parvati (Shakti), Aditya Bhagavan and then finally to the Supreme Bhagavan Krishna.

    Remember :
“Those who worship Deities, go to them; those who worship ancestors, go to their ancestors; people who worship ghosts and spirits, go to them; and those who worship Me, will surely come unto Me.” Bhagavan Krishna in verse SBG 9:25.

“SBG 18:57 Using the Yoga of your intellect, renounce all your actions into Me, have Me as your highest goal, devote yourself intensely to Me and you will always be under My protection. Be fully conscious of Me all the time.”

People who create new communities and other such groups, sects and sub-sects within the Dharmic society are the ones responsible for the lack of unity, oneness or cohesiveness among Dharmic people.

There is certainly no hell or eternal fire waiting for those who stray from the path of Dharma – the only thing is that it might take a few hundred Janmas more before their Karmic heading is corrected and the process of their Karmic evolution is on track again.

  35. King , Businessmen and Cow .

Jai shree krishna .. Sharing a story as told by my friend ..

There was a King who ruled in ancient times..And there was a Businessmen ( Seth ) in the country where he ruled… The businessmen was very rich and good person , at times he had helped the financing the King during war or famine times…
It so happened that due to Karmic recycle , the businessmen became pauper literally … Lost everything even could not cope up own requirement of daily food …His wife suggested him to visit king and get help , having he helped king earlier in so many time. The Businessmen hesitated a lot but upon insistence of his wife visited King and shared all his misfortune, secretly expecting money help from King …. The king listened and gave businessmen a Cow .. Surprised with insensitivity of King he returned nervous , his wife too became dejected. The cow died in a short span ..The wife again convinced Businessmen to visit King. Businessmen visited against his own wish , King again gave Cow , it died … This happened for good 3 times and some good period elapsed. For the last time upon insistence of wife the Businessmen visited and this time he got calf instead of Cow .. and as a change this time the Calf did not died , it grew into a good Cow and it started giving milk to businessmen which he could use for himself and sell too. So some financial support was created.. So the businessmen went to King to update this change and also thank him for his support .. This time King took him to his treasure house and opened all treasures for him to take … The Businessmen was amazed why King did not supported at time when he needed the most but Now .. To this the King answered like this … The King said .. when I gave Cow and they died meant your time is not right , even if I would have given you Treasures it would not have lasted long with you ….But that the calf if not dead and growing means your time has changed . Now I can share my treasure with you … Moral : Have patience till your time comes You keep praying to Krishna and we feel he does not respond .. . He will give you treasure when your time is right .. Keep praying .
    Jai shree krishna

  36. Srimad Bhagavad Gita – the panacea for all mental woes and problems such as, turmoils in the mind, confusion, lack of clarity, fear, anxiety, stress, anger, lack of self-esteem, self-doubt and even disease.

The three to four hours it takes to read the translation of all the 700 verses can be the most important investment of time you would ever be making in your life. If you are reading it for the first time, make sure that you don’t go for those fat copies of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita containing lengthy and highly philosophical interpretations of the Divine verses because they might bore you and make you lose interest. Instead, go to https://tvmgita.wordpress.com and read the precise translations in simple English. You may either read all the 18 chapters in one session or read them in sets of three or four chapters a day. However, reading the entire Bhagavad Gita in one sitting is what I would personally suggest.

  41. Dear Sir .,♦Jai shree krishna .,
I have a question to ask : This is my question but guess could be in the mind of others who are going thorough topsy turvy twists of life ….At times we think we are into a very big problem and cannot solve ourselves or rather in this life time this is reality .But simultaneously or with some period of time we feel hopeful and positive = which is only thought not reality ..what is actually true ?

    • Hello Kishor,

The mind, which is like a monkey, constantly keeps playing tricks on people. Its state, which is abstract in nature, can be altered within seconds. It can be very easily influenced by all kinds of inputs. These inputs could be obtained from a film, a book, a quote of some famous person, a hoarding with a slogan of an organisation, advice from friends or family, insults from people, threats, pleasant or unpleasant experiences and so on. It is because of this quality of the mind that mentally disturbed people feel much better when they meditate, chant Mantras, take a walk in a beautiful garden, or when a dear friend calms them down with gentle and kind words. They can also feel aggravated when someone insults them or attacks them.

Let us get to the question you asked. You have given two situations that equally convince you that both of them are true. In fact, neither of them really matter. What is true is the Self in you that perceives both those situations. Do not overlook the fact that it is the mind and ego that take you for a spin with such varying opinions and understandings of the same situation.

I am preparing a presentation on one of the most important Upanishads. Those who read and understand it will never be bothered or troubled by anything or anyone. To put it in a nutshell, it is about the three states of consciousness which are:
      1. The waking state,
      2. The dream state, and
      3. The dreamless state
However, there is a fourth state which underlies and also transcends the three states. This state is called the ‘Turiyam’ or simply the fourth state. It is pure consciousness, the Self or the underlying Brahman. It perceives and witnesses the first three states. This understanding is one of the prime requirements in comprehending the Advaita philosophy.

A true Yogi is one who has mastered the art of controlling and harnessing his mind. The easiest way to begin to end one’s slavery of the mind would be to look at it as a tool which is distinct from oneself.

People are nothing but perishable bodies that the Eternal Self inhabits for a particular periods of time. Therefore, it would be absurd for people to be attached to other people, to things or to particular situations or conditions in life as they are all impermanent. The ‘Turiyam’ state of consciousness, Brahman, or Krishna is the ultimate Truth.

      बहिरन्तश्च भूतानामचरं चरमेव च |
      सूक्ष्मत्वात्तदविज्ञेयं दूरस्थं चान्तिके च तत् || १३ १५ ||
SBG 13:15 The Supreme Truth exists both inside and outside of all moving and non living beings. It appears far to the ignorant and near to those of knowledge.

      समं सर्वेषु भूतेषु तिष्ठन्तं परमेश्वरम् |
      विनश्यत्स्वविनश्यन्तं यः पश्यति स पश्यति || १३ २७ ||
SBG 13:27 The person who truly sees is the one who sees the Supreme Bhagavan, existing equally, the unperishing within the perishing.

All situations are great learning experiences. They keep changing continually and hence do not require worrying about and wasting the ever fleeting priceless present for.

Live in the present, respect it, relish it, admire it and be thankful for it.
      Everything will be fine.

      Jai Shri Krishna

      • When you completely remove fear from your system, courage is what you will be left.

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – Helen Keller

        Jai Shri Krishna

        • Dear Tavamithram Sir,

Speaking of fear, I have been trying to learn to deal with fear and how to handle it. Nowadays I go to the Gita verses and I always find an answer. I am pleasantly surprised to say this.

I am trying to get to the root of fear and lack of courage. Bhagavan Krishna has something to say to Arjuna in the beginning of the second chapter and I found it interesting.

          श्रीभगवानुवाच |

The Supreme Bhagavan said: O Arjuna, where, in this hour of crisis, did these qualities like weakness, which are unbecoming of honourable men, come from and take over you? Such qualities will prevent you from reaching higher levels in life and will also ruin your honour and get you a bad reputation.
          क्लैब्यं मा स्म गमः पार्थ नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते |

          klaibyam maa sma gamah paartha

          kshuudram hrdaya daurbalyam
          tyaktvottistha parantapa (SBG 2:03)
Do not give in to cowardice, which is not manly and does not suit you. Shed this weak-heartedness and get up, O destroyer of enemies.

Recently I was ashamed of myself when I was overcome with fear. I knew it was not the right thing after having learned so much, and putting my faith in the Bhagavan.

And again I got to understand the role that our Karma plays. I cannot stress enough on the importance of action that Bhagavan Krishna asks us to perform without attachment.

Fear is the result of lack of confidence. And lack of confidence is the result of not having built up enough capabilities and not having learnt how to handle situations. Without repeated, dedicated action or Karma, capabilities are not built. And laziness is what stops us from putting effort into our rightful actions and duties.

It is quite astonishing how all these are related.

Can a student who has never put any effort in studies just surrender to the Bhagavan and say “I have put all my trust and faith in you, so help me”? He needs to put that effort and do his Karma without attachment to the results. And only then can he say that with a clean conscience and without any fear inhibiting him.

A devotee to Bhagavan Krishna has absolutely nothing to fear. And at the same time, a devotee, true to his name performs his duties without fail and without attachment.

Karma is very important. Especially Karma without attachment.

Thought I’d share my little experience.

Thank you for your invaluable guidance.

          • Very nicely put. It will not suffice to put all faith and trust in the lord and do nothing. Sadly this is what many people think. I too did exactly the same and expected him to help me. Being guided by Tavamithram I could make a workable plan of action and follow it successfully. I underwent a special session on fear management by him. Handling fear is no more a problem for me ever since I became prepared for anything.
            Best wishes

          • Hello Manju.

You already know that fear is a state of mind and it is a direct result of ego and attachment.

I suggest that before you try to go any further trying to handle your fear, work on clearly defining what exactly you are afraid of. Be specific and precise in defining it. Most people who do it correctly, invariably end up understanding that it was the lack of clarity in their mind that was the cause of the mental discomfort they had and that they actually had nothing to fear.

            इहैव तैर्जितः सर्गो येषां साम्ये स्थितं मनः |
            निर्दोषं हि समं ब्रह्म तस्माद् ब्रह्मणि ते स्थिताः || ५ १९ ||
SBG 5:19 Even here in this life, those who have their minds situated in equality and in equanimity and have conquered dualities, are flawless and are situated in the Ultimate Truth.

            Stay blessed.

            Jai Shri Krishna

  42. Why do we need a Guru?

    Beautiful story:

Once upon a time, a cow went out to graze in the jungle. Suddenly, she noticed a tiger racing towards her. She turned and fled, fearing that at any moment the tiger would sink his claws into her. The cow desperately looked for some place to escape and at last saw a shallow pond. Barely evading the tiger’s reach, she jumped into the pond, and in the heat of the chase, the tiger blindly leaped after her.

To the surprise of them both, the pond was extremely shallow yet filled with deep recesses of mud. After toppling over each other, the cow and the tiger found themselves a short distance apart, stuck in the mud up to their necks. Both had their heads above water but were unable to free themselves no matter how much they writhed.

The tiger repeatedly snarled at the cow and roared, “I am going to enjoy the sound of crunching your bones between my teeth!”

He thrashed about in a fury but soon became fretful as he found no prospect of escape.

The cow thoughtfully laughed as the tiger struggled to free himself and asked him, “Do you have a master?”

The tiger disdainfully replied, “I am the king of the jungle. Why do you ask me if I have a master? I myself am the master!”

The cow said, “You may be the king of the jungle, but here all your power has failed to save your life.”

“And what about you?” Retorted the tiger. “You are going to die here in this mud too!”’

The cow smiled mildly and said, “No, I am not.”

“If even I, the king of the jungle cannot free myself from this mud”, snapped the tiger, “Then how can you, an ordinary cow?”

The cow gently replied, “I cannot free myself from this mud, but my master can. When the sun sets and he finds me absent at home, he will come looking for me. Once he finds me, he will raise me up and escort me home sweet home.”

The tiger fell silent and coldly glared at the cow.

Soon enough, the sun set, and the cow’s master arrived. He immediately recognised the plight she was in and lifted her to safety. As they walked home, the cow and the master both felt renewed gratitude for one another and pitied the tiger they both would have been happy to save if only the tiger had allowed them.

The cow represents a 📍surrendered heart, 📍the tiger represents an egoistic mind, and the master represents the Guru. 📍The mud represents the world, and the chase represents the struggle for existence therein.

No matter how many troubles appear to be created by the egoistic minds of the world, who are themselves as stuck as the surrendered heart, the surrendered heart has faith that the Guru is always going to come at the right time to save her and take her back “home” – the ❤inner happiness in us is pure true home. So when totally stuck and helpless, when one has already done all one can and has no more means left, when every other effort fails, the surrendered heart STILL does not give up hope. She will just wait patiently until sundown.

  43. Namaste Tavamithram Family,

Yesterday I watched “Sanju”, the movie. Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju has created history by minting Rs 46.71 crores on day 3, thus taking the grand total to a whopping Rs 120.06 crores at the box office as of Day 3. By becoming the highest opener of 2018 to marking the highest Sunday ever for a Hindi film, Sanju has shattered all records at the domestic box office.

If any of you have still not seen the movie, do yourselves a favour and watch it tomorrow!

So, we mostly know Sanjay Dutt’s story; his birth with a silver spoon, famous and rich parents, his tryst with drugs, mother’s death from cancer, his brilliant recovery, his body building, his accidental involvement in Mumbai Bomb Blasts, Vaastav, Munnabhai MBBS and his time spent in Yerwada jail. His life seems like he has already lived his three Sade Sati periods.

But one of things that really struck me was his father, Sunil Dutt’s life. While Sunil Dutt has passed away in 2005, I am certain that if he has been already reborn, this person will see tremendous success in life amassing great love from millions of people. He could be anywhere in this world; but success & love will be his.

The reason being that Sunil Dutt has not only gained respect for his celluloid work, but he has gained respect from the people who he has worked for tirelessly and stood like a pillar for his own family despite losing his wife to cancer, dealing with trials and tribulations that his family went through. If we feel Sanjay Dutt has lived through three Sade Satis; Sunil Dutt perhaps has lived his entire life in Sade Sati (collectively for him, his wife, his son). And in spite of this, people’s respect and love for him is unwavering.

There is also a scene in the movie (based on real incidents) where in Sunil Dutt is helping people on the road and the two police officers who were placed for his protection confess their allegiance to him by stating that they are willing to take bullets on their chest for him.

Thus, as we all know by now, life is a beautiful story of Karma. Good Karma & Bad Karma. We get payback in this life or next week. But payback is guaranteed. Sunil Dutt, if he has been reborn, will get immense positive payback from the Universe.

    Jai Shri Krishna

    • Dear Krishna Kumar .,
Jai shree krshna .. I beg pardon for having alternate views on your post of Sanju .. I feel this is glorification of a failed person who has been wrong side of deeds all along his life and trying to make him hero just because he happens from media field . Can such thing could have happened to any ordinary criminal languishing in jail and then coming out ? .
