The great ringed planet moves into Sagittarius.
Among all planetary transits, the transit of Saturn is the most important and also dramatic one because it is believed to directly affect the lives of people undergoing periods of time which are under the influence of Saturn. They are periods such as Saturn (Shani) Dasha or the feared Sadé Sati.
Sadé Sati is the period of seven and a half years in a person’s life, that the beautiful and mystical ringed planet of Karma, discipline, sufferings, downfalls but also of huge success, spends traversing through the 12th, the 1st and the 2nd houses from the Moonsign on his or her natal chart.
Karma is always balanced based on justice and absolute fairness. There are no shortcuts to balance Karma. The two most efficient ways to mitigate the sufferings caused by a person’s past Karma are adding positive Karma to their credit and through absolute devotion and modesty and by altering the way they think. When the soul leaves a body and enters a new one in order to start a new Janma, it carries along with it the mind and the five senses of the person who has ended his or her Janma. The mind is where past Karma is recorded and certainly not in some archive in the heavens. Therefore altering the way one thinks can alter Karma. This is the truth that can be inferered from verse 15:08 of the Bhagavad Gita.
The 26th day of January 2017, is the day when Saturn moves into Sagittarius which happens to be the 2nd house for Vrischikans, the 1st house for Dhanu Rashians and the 12th house for Makar Rashians. It is the day when people born under these three Moon signs enter their 3rd, 2nd and 1st phases of Sadé Sati respectively.
It is also a period when astrologers and others make a lot of money by confusing and scaring those under Sadé Sati telling them about the horrible things that can happen during the dreaded period unless they went for remedial measures suggested by them. Being a person who has faced life threatening situations many times and yet not affected by fear, I can only say, ‘Nothing unbearable shall ever happen’. This quote is of one of my Gurus Prof. Dasharatharam who was a well read, highly knowledgeable and spiritual man. It was about two decades ago, when I was blessed with the great opportunity to be closely associated with him and learn from him.
Below are my thoughts about the current Saturn transit for Vrischikans, Dhanu Rashians and Makar Rashians.

Congratulations Tula Rashians! You guys have made it! Bravo! Have a great life ahead.

The third phase of Sadé Sati for Vrischikans.
Saturn moves into Dhanu Rashi (Sagittarius) which is the second house from Vrischika (Scorpio). The transit of Saturn through the 1st house or Rashi (moon sign), during the last two and a half years, would have caused severe hardships to many. People would have experienced losses, slow or no growth in career or business, broken relationships, loneliness and overall difficulties in life. The period would have brought down the confidence levels in the minds of many natives and would have caused them to commit some incorrible mistakes in life.
Now that Saturn moves into your second house, it marks the beginning of the end of a long, dreary and agonising period that began somewhere around November 2011. This long period that was full of dejections must have seasoned you to such an extent that you won’t be vulnerable to fake friends and flattery anymore. Now that you have experienced the reality of life and have sobered down completely, you are fully ready to accept and relish the brilliant future that awaits you. However, it would be of utmost importance that you don’t forget the lessons you have learned. Remember, your next Sadé Sati will begin in about 24 years from now in January 2041. Since you now know what Sadé Sati really means, you could start working on building a massive positive Karmic balance to your credit that should ensure your next Sadé Sati to be quite a smooth and rewarding one. Follow the Five Pearls, strengthen your faith in Bhagavan Krishna and practise spiritual, mental and physical discipline.
During the third phase of your Sadé Sati, it is quite possible that you would be pleasantly surprised, by people who turned you down or insulted you earlier, call you on their own. Things will seem less knotty than before and you will find your path to have lesser number of obstacles than how it was during the last five years or more. Nonetheless, don’t take things for granted but continue to pay sincere attention to your spiritual pursuits and to caring for your health. The consistency you have been maintaining in your devotion and modesty should never go down because if it does, the whole Karmic purpose of your having experienced and faced challenges during the last five to six years is lost.
You may have noticed that truly great self made people are always modest, loving friendly and compassionate despite being extremely successful and wealthy. That’s because of all the hardships they went through in order to become whatever they are. They know what suffering, joblessness, pennilessness, loneliness and the feeling of being worthless mean. They are like cut diamonds and gold ornaments that went through hell before becoming expensive or even pricless pieces of jewellery. You can also take the example of mountain rocks with jagged edges and the smooth and lovely pebbles that you find under water. Experience and endurance are the most essential and matchless requisites to achieve success in whatever you do.
Remember verse 2:14 from the Srimad Bhagavad Gita: “O Arjuna, impermanent things like happiness and sadness, heat and cold in summer and winter, come and go. They are temporary so learn to endure them.”
Cheer up Vrischikans, you have come a long way and have endured a lot for which you may well give yourselves a pat on your shoulder. Things will certainly get better but never lose patience which is one of the greatest virtues one can ever possess.
Jai Shri Krishna.
The Second phase for Dhanu Rashians
Saturn moves into your first house or moon sign which is Dhanu (Sagittarius). It is said that Saturn in the first house signifies hardships and severe challenges in life. Vedic Astrology also says that this period can have ill effects on your health, relationships and also on your career. As a matter of principle, I don’t discuss negative things which unfortunately have the power to seep into people’s minds much more easily than positive things. When a person is told that Bhagavan Krishna is everywhere, he or she may find it a bit difficult to process such a thought in the mind. But on the other hand, if you said to a person, ‘Don’t go into that dilapidated house over there because it is haunted by the ghost of an old woman who died there a hundred years ago,” he or she will immediately take the advice seriously and actually avoid even going past the street where the haunted house is located! That’s how negative ideas and seeds of fear are accepted quite naturally by people. They can influence the mind of people in a negative way and that is exactly why we strictly avoid them on our sites! There are of course people who went through untold sufferings during Sadé Sati but why don’t you look at people like Mr. Narendra Modi, a Vrischika Rashian, who has achieved huge success just after his Sadé Sati began?
Everyone knows that it is mandatory to study weather forecasts and make a proper flight plan before each and every aircraft takes off anywhere in the world. Similarly, it would be a good idea to consider the possibility of a low patch in life before planning the next set of five years. Talking to people who have already been through rough weather helps in not only preparing oneself for tough situations but also in guarding oneself from them. However, if you go too deep into discussing troubles and sufferings of others there can be only one possible outcome – new troubles for you too. Never forget that every person is on a different stage of their respective Karmic evolution and therefore imagining that what happened to someone else can happen to you is absurd. But on the other hand, if you constantly keep thinking of the problems faced by them, you might actually make them happen in your life too. This is simply because, by doing so, you create negative images in your mind in which you unknowingly put yourself in their shoes.
Saturn in the first house will teach you the most amazing lessons that will make you a fine person. The most important truth you will need to always remember is that NO ONE CAN SHARE YOUR KARMA, NOT EVEN YOUR PARENTS. Therefore going to babas, astrologers and magicians to rid you of your Karma is nothing short of stupidity. Your Karma can be balanced only by you! Negative Karma cannot be deleted but it can be ‘overwritten’ by positive Karma. Isn’t this a good enough solution? It simply means that the more good you do, the sooner will it outweigh your past negative Karma. Don’t get into self-pity when you face challenges in life. What you endure will make you richer in knowledge and experience. There is no teacher greater than experience. You may read the Bhagavad Gita and understand everything that Bhagavan taught Arjuna but unless you apply those truths in your life, you will never really comprehend.
There are certainly a lot of people who hardly face any hardships during Sadé Sati. Like I mentioned earlier, each and every person is in a different stage of their own respective Karmic evolution. Therefore saying things like, ‘Why should I suffer when I have never harmed anyone,’ or ‘What wong did I commit that I am facing hardships in life,’ or ‘Why does that person make so much money although he (or she) cheats others?’ are nothing but nonsensical, self-centred and arrogant thoughts.
It is important to understand who the ‘Self’ in you is and what your body and mind are. Understanding the Bhagavad Gita will clear most of your questions. Please also read these posts:

To summarise what I said above, you will need to stay calm and develop many qualities in you which you may have until now thought to be unimportant. You may also go through the following page which contains important points on Sadé Sati based on sheer experience:
Remember the following:
1. Take good care of your health by following healthy and Sattvik diet habits; and regular exercise,
2. Make sure you don’t react instantly to whatever people tell you, particularly to your spouse or to your business partners,
3. Think a hundred times before spending even a single Penny because you might well be needing each one of them.
I wish you Dhanu Rashians a safe ride during the second phase of your Sadé Sati. Don’t worry, it will pass soon.
Jai Shri Krishna
The first phase for Makar Rashians
The transit of Saturn into the 12th house signifies the beginning of the seven and a half period called Sadé Sati. This is when you will rediscover yourself and when many myths and false thoughts that occupied your mind, will be fully destroyed.
Makar Rashians have a very close connection with Saturn because the house of Makara is owned by Saturn. But Saturn is Saturn and the one and only way to avoid being badly affected during periods of Saturn are through devotion and positive Karma, and definitely not through any remedial measures offered to you by babas, astrologers and necromancers!
It would be essential for you to prepare your mind in order to receive true knowledge and experience that the next seven and a half years have to offer you. Understanding the Bhagavad Gita will clear most of your questions about God, Karma, Dharma, etc.
