He who is perfect in Yoga finds it in the Self in due course of time.
SBG 6:05 उद्धरेदात्मनात्मानं नात्मानमवसादयेत् | आत्मैव ह्यात्मनो बन्धुरात्मैव रिपुरात्मनः || ६ ५ || uddhare-daat-manaat-maanam naat-maanam-avasaa-dayet atmaiva hyaat-mano bandhur- aatmaiva ripur-aatmanaha (SBG 6:05) You must lift yourself with your own mind and should not degrade yourself. The mind is a friend as well as the enemy of the Self.
SBG 10:20 अहमात्मा गुडाकेश सर्वभूताशयस्थितः | अहमादिश्च मध्यं च भूतानामन्त एव च || १० २० || ahamaatmaa gudaakesha sarva-bhootaa-shayas-thitaha ahamaadish-cha madhyam cha bhootaa-naam-anta eva cha (SBG 10:20) I am the Self, O Gudakesha (Arjuna), situated within all living entities. I am the origin, the middle and also the end of all beings.
SBG 13:02 (13:3 in some editions) क्षेत्रज्ञं चापि मां विद्धि सर्वक्षेत्रेषु भारत | क्षेत्रक्षेत्रज्ञयोर्ज्ञानं यत्तज्ज्ञानं मतं मम || १३ २ || kshetrajnam chaapi maam viddhi sarva kshetreshu bhaarata kshetra-kshetrajnayor-jnaanam yattat-jnaanam matam mama (SBG 13:02) You should know that the Kshetrajna or the embodied Self in all bodies or Kshetras is Me, O Arjuna. Knowing about the Kshetra and the Kshetrajnas is called knowledge.
The ‘thread’ of existence – The one who comprehends this attains instantaneous spiritual, intellectual and emotional freedom, and above all peace.
Irrespective of the difficulties or obstacles you encounter in life, the foremost task you might want to undertake prior to seeking solutions would be to overcome the CURSE OF DUALITY by PURGING YOUR MIND of all baseless fears, beliefs and assumptions that may be currently dictating your thoughts.
Those who propagate the concept of duality lack an understanding of both Vedanta and the principles of science and rationality. Their influence on society has been immeasurable and harmful. The naive and intellectual notion of unquestioningly believing in the existence of a separate divine being is a leading cause of major conflicts, wars, genocides, and other atrocious events throughout human history. Individual beliefs often clash, leading to deep-rooted conflicts that can endure for centuries. Nowhere in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita does Krishna instruct Arjuna to blindly believe in anything or seek His favour through prayer. Nowhere does Krishna advocate for performing absurd goal-oriented rituals. Such actions carried out in the name of religion, Bhakti, or tradition contradict one of the core teachings of KarmaYoga in the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
SBG 2:47 कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन | मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि || २ ४७ || You only have the right to work, but never to claim its results. The results of your actions should never be your motive but at the same time, you should not be attached to inaction.

Consider this: Just as a wave emerges from the ocean and temporarily assumes its own form and identity, it always remains connected to and inseparable from the ocean.
Likewise, all living beings and inanimate objects are similar to waves, as they too arise from the vast ocean of existence and adopt transient names and forms, only to return to their original state of oneness with the entirety of existence or Brahman.
Physical beings are mere assemblages of cells organised in various ways that determine their structure and function. However, the true Self is the same omnipresent Paramatma, Brahman, or the entity known as Krishna, without whom nothing can either exist or not exist.
The false belief of separation from the whole is the root cause of mental distress and unease in life. These deeply ingrained beliefs, though difficult to uproot, can be overcome within a short span of time if one truly opens their inner eye of reason.
SBG 6:29 सर्वभूतस्थमात्मानं सर्वभूतानि चात्मनि | ईक्षते योगयुक्तात्मा सर्वत्र समदर्शनः || ६ २९ || A yogi whose Self is united with Divine Consciousness sees the Self abiding in all beings and all beings in the Self. Such a person sees the same everywhere.
SBG 10:20 अहमात्मा गुडाकेश सर्वभूताशयस्थितः | अहमादिश्च मध्यं च भूतानामन्त एव च || १० २० || I am the Self, O Gudakesha (Arjuna), situated within all living entities. I am the origin, the middle and also the end of all beings.
SBG 13:27 (or 28 in some editions) समं सर्वेषु भूतेषु तिष्ठन्तं परमेश्वरम् | विनश्यत्स्वविनश्यन्तं यः पश्यति स पश्यति || १३ २७ || The person who truly sees is the one who sees the Supreme Atman or Supreme Bhagavan, existing equally in all beings – the unperishing within the perishing.
SBG 13:28 (or 29 in some editions) समं पश्यन्हि सर्वत्र समवस्थितमीश्वरम् | न हिनस्त्यात्मनात्मानं ततो याति परां गतिम् || १३ २८ || Such a person perceives the same Supreme Divinity or Bhagavan dwelling equally everywhere, and he does not degrade his own spiritual well-being by mistaking his ego to be the Self like the way ignorant people do. He, therefore, reaches the highest goal.

The Srimad Bhagavad Gita provides a perfect layout for a productive and fulfilling life, but unfortunately, many people do not fully understand its philosophy. Instead, through social media posts and videos, they are subliminally and also directly forced to fully believe in duality so that the gullible youth could become members of their large organisations. Most such organisations preach messages that are contrary to the teachings of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
It is time for people to start simplifying their lives and focusing on the core philosophy of Vedanta. We need to get back to basics and teach our children and youth the true meaning of dharma. By doing so, we can create a world that is more peaceful, harmonious, and fulfilling.

O mighty-armed one, renunciation is difficult to achieve without yoga. However, a contemplative person who is steadfast in yoga can quickly attain the eternal Brahman.

Arjuna said: O Krishna, you praise renunciation of all actions, and then you talk about devotional Service or Yoga. Please tell me for sure, which one of the two is better.

Bhagavan Shri Krishna said: Renunciation and the Yoga of performing selfless action both lead to liberation. But among the two, the Yoga of performing selfless action is superior to the Yoga of renunciation of action.

A person who neither hates nor desires the results of his actions is known to be a Sanyasi or one who has renounced everything. Such a person is free from dualities and is therefore liberated from material bondage.
अज्ञश्चाश्रद्दधानश्च संशयात्मा विनश्यति | नायं लोकोऽस्ति न परो न सुखं संशयात्मनः || ४ ४० ||
agnyash-chaa-shraddha-dhaanash-cha samshayaatmaa vinashyati naayam loko’sti na paro na sukham samshayaat-manaha(SBG 4:40)
The ignorant, the faithless and those who doubt themselves proceed to destruction. For the one who doubts, there is happiness neither in this world nor in the other.

योगसंन्यस्तकर्माणं ज्ञानसंछिन्नसंशयम् | आत्मवन्तं न कर्माणि निबध्नन्ति धनंजय || ४ ४१ ||

He who has renounced the fruit of actions by Yoga, whose doubts have been destroyed by knowledge and who is situated in the Self, O Dhananjaya (Arjuna), is not bound by actions.

तस्मादज्ञानसंभूतं हृत्स्थं ज्ञानासिनात्मनः | छित्त्वैनं संशयं योगमातिष्ठोत्तिष्ठ भारत || ४ ४२ ||
Therefore, O descendant of Bharata (Arjuna), destroy doubt born of ignorance of the Self seated in your heart, with the sword of your knowledge, take to Yoga and rise.
तद्विद्धि प्रणिपातेन परिप्रश्नेन सेवया | उपदेक्ष्यन्ति ते ज्ञानं ज्ञानिनस्तत्त्वदर्शिनः || ४ ३४ ||
tadhviddhi praNipaathena pariprashnena sevayaa upadekshyanthi te gnyaanam gnyaaninas-thatthva-darshinah (SBG 4:34)
Acquire knowledge through reverence to teachers who have known the Truth, serve them and ask them questions until all of them are answered. The wise who know the Truth will teach it to you.

यज्ज्ञात्वा न पुनर्मोहमेवं यास्यसि पाण्डव | येन भूतान्यशेषाणि द्रक्ष्यस्यात्मन्यथो मयि || ४ ३५ ||
After acquiring that knowledge, O son of Pandu (Arjuna), you will not be deluded like this anymore and by that knowledge, you will see all creatures in you and them in Me.
Freed from attachment, fear and anger, being absorbed in Me, taking refuge in Me, purified by the fire of knowledge, many have thus attained My Divine nature.

यस्य सर्वे समारम्भाः कामसङ्कल्पवर्जिताः | ज्ञानाग्निदग्धकर्माणं तमाहुः पण्डितं बुधाः || ४ १९ ||
A person whose every action is devoid of selfish desires and whose actions are burned by the fire of knowledge is known to be a wise and highly learned person.
The senses are superior to the sense objects; the mind is superior to the senses, but the intellect is superior to the mind, and the Self or the soul is superior to the intellect. ———————————————————– SBG 3:43 एवं बुद्धेः परं बुद्ध्वा संस्तभ्यात्मानमात्मना | जहि शत्रुं महाबाहो कामरूपं दुरासदम् || ३ ४३ || evam buddheh param buddhvaa samsta-bhyaat-maana-maatmanaa jahi shatrum mahaa-baaho kaama ruupam duraasadam (SBG 3:43)
Thus, O mighty-armed one, having recognized the immortal SELF as being superior to the intellect and having strengthened yourself by yourSelf, kill the invincible enemy in the form of desire.
SBG 3:40 इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिरस्याधिष्ठानमुच्यते | एतैर्विमोहयत्येष ज्ञानमावृत्य देहिनम् || ३ ४० || indriyaaNi mano buddhir- asyaadhist-haa-namuchyate etair-vimohayat-yesha- jnaana-maavrtya dehinam (SBG 3:40)
The senses, the mind and the intelligence are called the seats of lust. Therefore, control the senses right in the beginning, O Arjuna, and kill the thing that destroys knowledge and the realisation of the Self.
Arjuna said: What prompts a man to perform sinful deeds, O descendant of Vrshni? Why does he commit such acts even without desiring to do them, as if he were forced? —————————————————– 3:37 श्रीभगवानुवाच | काम एष क्रोध एष रजोगुणसमुद्भवः | महाशनो महापाप्मा विद्ध्येनमिह वैरिणम् || ३ ३७ || sri bhagavaan uvaacha kaama esha krodha esha rajo-guNa-samud-bhavaha mahaashano mahaa paapmaa viddhyena-miha vairiNam (SBG 3:37)
Shri Bhagavan Krishna said: Lust and anger are born out of the material nature called Rajoguna, which is insatiable and prompts man to commit sin. You must know that this is the greatest enemy in a man’s spiritual life.
SBG 3:20 कर्मणैव हि संसिद्धिमास्थिता जनकादयः | लोकसंग्रहमेवापि संपश्यन्कर्तुमर्हसि || ३ २० || karmaNaiva hi samsiddhim– aasthithaa janakaa-dayaha loka-sangraha-mevaapi sampashyan-kartu-marhasi (SBG 3:20)
Even Janaka and other kings attained perfection through action. Your actions should be for the benefit of the world. ———————————————— SBG 3:21 यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः | स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते || ३ २१ || yadhyadaa-charathi shresht-has- thattha-devetaro janaha sa yat-pramaaNam kurute lokastha-dhanu-varthathe (SBG 3:21)
Whatever or whichever action an important person does, others follow him and emulate him. What he does becomes a standard for the others.
Don’t just do things because others are doing them! Ask questions. Research. Reflect. Rationalise.
SBG 2:71 विहाय कामान्यः सर्वान्पुमांश्चरति निःस्पृहः | निर्ममो निरहङ्कारः स शान्तिमधिगच्छति || २ ७१ || vihaaya kaamaan-yaha sarvaan- pumaamsh-charati nihspruhaha nirmamo nirahankaaraha sa shaanti madhigacchati (SBG 2:71) The person, who has renounced attachment to all sense objects, lives with no sense of ownership, and he is free from false pride, thus attaining peace. —————————————————————————- SBG 2:72 एषा ब्राह्मी स्थितिः पार्थ नैनां प्राप्य विमुह्यति | स्थित्वास्यामन्तकालेऽपि ब्रह्मनिर्वाणमृच्छति || २ ७२ || esha braahmi sthitihi paartha nainaam praapya vimuhyati sthitvaa-syaamanta-kaale ‘pi brahma-nirvaNa-mrcchati (SBG 2:72) This spiritual state or the Braahmi state, O Partha, removes confusion from the mind. This state of mind of a person, at the time of death, helps one attain Nirvaana in the Supreme Brahman.
SBG 2:62 + 2:63 ध्यायतो विषयान्पुंसः सङ्गस्तेषूपजायते | सङ्गात्संजायते कामः कामात्क्रोधोऽभिजायते || २ ६२ || dhyaayato vishayaan-pumsaha sangas-teshu-pajaayate sangaat-sanjaayate kaamaha kaamaat-krodho ‘bhijaayate (SBG 2:62) A person who thinks of sense objects develops an attachment for them. From this attachment, desires are born and from desires, anger is born. 2:63 क्रोधाद्भवति संमोहः संमोहात्स्मृतिविभ्रमः | स्मृतिभ्रंशाद् बुद्धिनाशो बुद्धिनाशात्प्रणश्यति || २ ६३ || krodhaad-bhavati sammohaha sammohaat-smrti-vibhramaha smrti-bhramshaad buddhi-naasho buddhi-naashaat-praNashyati (SBG 2:63) Anger gives birth to delusion and this delusion results in confusion of memory. When memory is confused, intelligence is destroyed, and from the destruction of intelligence, the person perishes.
He who is not agitated or disturbed despite the threefold miseries, is also not euphoric when he has comforts and is free from attachment, fear and anger, is a sage with a steady mind.
SBG 2:60 यततो ह्यपि कौन्तेय पुरुषस्य विपश्चितः | इन्द्रियाणि प्रमाथीनि हरन्ति प्रसभं मनः || २ ६० || yatato hyapi kaunteya purushasya vipash-chitaha indriyaaNi pramaathiini haranti prasabham manaha (SBG 2:60) The senses, which are so strong, O son of Kunti, can forcibly lead astray even the mind of the wisest person.
SBG 2:54 अर्जुन उवाच | स्थितप्रज्ञस्य का भाषा समाधिस्थस्य केशव | स्थितधीः किं प्रभाषेत किमासीत व्रजेत किम् || २ ५४ || arjuna uvaacha sthita-pragnyasya kaa bhaashaa samaadhi-sthasya keshava sthithadhiihi kim prabhaa-shetha kimaasiitha vrajeta kim (SBG 2:54) Arjuna said: What is a man, O Keshava (Bhagavan Krishna), who is steady in Samaadhi or Self realisation called? How does such a man talk? How does he sit and how does he walk? ———————————————————————— SBG 2:55 श्रीभगवानुवाच | प्रजहाति यदा कामान्सर्वान्पार्थ मनोगतान् | आत्मन्येवात्मना तुष्टः स्थितप्रज्ञस्तदोच्यते || २ ५५ || sri bhagavaan uvaacha prajahaathi yadaa kaamaan- sarvaan-paartha mano gathaan aathmanye-vaathmanaa thushtaha sthita-pragnyas-tadhochyate (SBG 2:55) Shree Bhagavan Krishna said: One who is free from all desires that enter the mind, O Partha (Arjuna), and is fully satisfied with his mind fixed in the pure state of the Atma, is called a ‘Stithapragnya’ or a man of steady consciousness.
2:48 योगस्थः कुरु कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा धनंजय | सिद्ध्यसिद्ध्योः समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते || २ ४८ || yogasthaha kuru karmaaNi sangam thyakthvaa dhananjaya siddhya siddhyoho samo bhuutvaa samatvam yoga uchyathe (SBG 2:48) You have to be established in Yoga, O Arjuna. You have to do your duty without any attachment to its success or to its failure. This kind of an equanimity is known as Yoga. ———————————————————————— 2:49 दूरेण ह्यवरं कर्म बुद्धियोगाद्धनंजय | बुद्धौ शरणमन्विच्छ कृपणाः फलहेतवः || २ ४९ || duureNa hyavaram karma buddhi yogaad-dhananjaya buddhau sharaNa-man-viccha krpaNaaha phala-hetavaha (SBG 2:49) Work done which is prompted by desire is much lower than work done through wisdom, O Dhananjaya. Those who perform actions with a selfish motive or for gains remain disappointed. However, those who practise Karmayoga are free from disappointments and sorrows because they have a balanced mind and are not worried about the results.
SBG 2:41 व्यवसायात्मिका बुद्धिरेकेह कुरुनन्दन | बहुशाखा ह्यनन्ताश्च बुद्धयोऽव्यवसायिनाम् || २ ४१ || vyavasaa-yaatmikaa buddhir- ekeha kuru-nandana bahu-shaakhaa hya-nantaas-cha buddhayo ‘vyavasaa-yinaam (SBG 2:41) In this path, O descendant of the Kurus (Arjuna) there is a single point of focus and determination. The thoughts of the undecided are branched and are infinite.

SBG 2:37 हतो वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीम् | तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चयः || २ ३७ || hatho va praapsyasi svargam jitvaa vaa bhokshyase mahim tasmaa-duttist-ha kaunteya yuddhaaya krta nischayaha (SBG 2:37) Either you will be killed in the battle, and you will attain the celestial abodes or, you will win this battle and enjoy the kingdom on earth. Therefore, arise and fight with resolution. ———————————————————————— SBG 2:38 सुखदुःखे समे कृत्वा लाभालाभौ जयाजयौ | ततो युद्धाय युज्यस्व नैवं पापमवाप्स्यसि || २ ३८ || sukhaduh-khe same krtvaa laabhaa-laabhau jayaa-jayau thatho yuddhaaya yujyasva naivam paapam-avaapsyasi (SBG 2:38) Fight the battle treating alike pleasure and pain, gain and loss as well as victory and defeat. By doing so, you will not sin.
धर्म्याद्धि युद्धाच्छ्रेयोऽन्यत्क्षत्रियस्य न विद्यते || २ ३१ ||
svadharma-mapi chaavekshya
na vikampitu-marhasi
dharmyaaddhi yuddhaach reyo ‘nyat-
kshatriyasya na vidhyate (SBG 2:31)
Considering your duty as a Kshatriya, you should not falter, as there is no greater work for you than a battle which protects Dharma (righteousness).
SBG 2:33
अथ चेत्त्वमिमं धर्म्यं संग्रामं न करिष्यसि |
ततः स्वधर्मं कीर्तिं च हित्वा पापमवाप्स्यसि || २ ३३ ||
atha chettva-mimam dharmyam
sangraamam na karishyasi
tatah svadharmam kiirtim cha
hitvaa paapam-avaapsyasi (SBG 2:33)
If you don’t fight this battle of Dharma (righteousness), you will be a sinner by failing in your duty, and it will cause the loss of your standing as a warrior.
धर्म्याद्धि युद्धाच्छ्रेयोऽन्यत्क्षत्रियस्य न विद्यते || २ ३१ ||

It is eternal and it has been there forever.
SBG 2:17 अविनाशि तु तद्विद्धि येन सर्वमिदं ततम् | विनाशमव्ययस्यास्य न कश्चित्कर्तुमर्हति || २ १७ || avinaashi tu tadviddhi yena sarva midam tatam vinaasham-avyayas-yaasya na kash-chit kartu marhati (SBG 2:17)
You must know that, that which pervades the body can never be destroyed. The soul is indestructible and imperishable.

The Self is never born, nor does it die at any time. It does not come into existence by being born. The Self is constant. It is not killed when the body dies.
2:12 नत्वेवाहं जातु नासं न त्वं नेमे जनाधिपाः | न चैव न भविष्यामः सर्वे वयमतः परम् || २ १२ || na tvevaaham jaatu naasam na tvam neme janaadhi-paaha na chaiva na bhavishyaa-maha sarve vayam-ataha param (SBG 2:12) There was never a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings. Like the heat and cold in summer and winter, they too come and go. They are temporary, so learn to endure them.
